Tóm tắt:Flavonoids in the rhizomes of Kaempferia parviflora (Wall. ex. Baker) cultivated in Vietnam were determined: 5,7-dimethoxyflavone by thin-layer chromatography (TLC) and the total flavonoids by spectrophotometry, both with 5,7-dimethoxyflavone as reference. For qualitative TLC, the samples were prepared as follows: to 1.0 g of the ground material, 10 ml methanol was added, kept ultrasonicated for 1 h, filtered to get the filtrate for test solution. TLC was performed as: TLC plate - Silica gel 60 GF254; Developing solvent - a mixture of toluen – chloroform – aceton – methanol – acid formic (5:4:0,1:0.2:0.2, v/v/v/v/v). The total flavonoids were extracted with 96 % ethanol and Quantitatively determined by UV-spectrophotometry (265 nm) with 5,7-dimethoxyflavone as reference. The method was validated in terms of linearity (r2 = 0.9965), repeatability (RSD = 1.73 %) and accuracy (98.60 % - 100.55 %). The total flavonoids content of the samples collected from three provinces of Vietnam (Nghe An, Thanh Hoa and Son La) were found to be 4.10 – 5.91 % calculated on the dried materials.
