The major methods have been chosen for this study is the descriptive and comparative .They are used in order to describe and identify the similarities and differences in term of syntactic and semantic features of the idioms containing the words Ear, Eye, Lip, Nose and Mouth with reference to their Vietnamese equivalents. As a result, in the findings and discussion, a comparison between English and Vietnamese in terms above has been made to discover the similarities and differences in the semantic and syntactic features. Moreover, idioms could mirror our life from every dimension. Therefore, basing on these similarities and differences, we can find out that the words in idioms and their meaning can not only expose the way people speak that language in their daily life but also reveal the underlying cultural characteristics such as geographical conditions, historical backgrounds, habits, culture, customs, religious beliefs and so on. Furthermore, this chapter gives some possible implications are also suggested for teachers and learners who interest in this field.
