| Tóm tắt: | My graduation thesis namely “A study on semantic features of English adjectives denoting “Big” with reference to their Vietnamese equivalents” involves to the study of the semantic features of adjectives. In this thesis, data used are gathered from different sources. Most of them are English – Vietnamese materials to assuage the value of Vietnamese equivalents. The study mainly describe the adjective have meaning denoting “Big” and compare with synonym in Vietnamese. In terms of semantic features, adjectives denoting “Big” and their Vietnamese equivalents can be divided into 4 main categories: “Big” in size, dimension and space, “Big” in number or amount, “Big” in degree and “Big” in value, significance and importance. After analyzing, we hope that our researcher can enhance the knowledge for English learners as well as help them have more information when translating “Big” from English to Vietnamese and vice versa. |
